Whether it’s photo props or quirky items that fit our ‘brand’, us bloggers love a homeware store. It doesn’t matter what your niche is, homeware stores seem to be this universal thing. After all, what’s more fun that decorating your home?
I’ve been on the look out for some new bits and bobs recently. When the seasons change, our living room decor seems to as well. Since it’s gotten warmer, we’ve switched to our Summer sofa cover. This is just an obnoxious and brightly coloured cover as opposed to our grey one. We’ve been thinking of ways to add this cheer elsewhere and then Rooi reached out to me. Talk about perfect timing!
Rooi are a luxury and designer homeware store that offer a range of products. With categories dedicated to particular rooms (bedroom, bathroom, dining room), you could easily find something for every place in the house! In addition to furnishing your home, Rooi also has a ton of other exciting products too. There’s lifestyle stuff, candles, stationery and more.
Here’s what I got…
The first category I was drawn to was stationery, obviously. Rooi have a real substantial selection which includes household names as well as some brands I’ve never heard of. With such a wide range of notebooks on offer, I was beside myself! I’m a big stationery hoarder and pretty much have a notebook for just about anything. In the end, I was swayed by these two Ban.do notebooks.
Ban.do are a brand I love, but one I can rarely afford. With shipping to the UK being close to £30, I’m always on the look out for UK stockists. Rooi have a selection of Ban.do notebooks I’ve not seen available in the UK before.
At the moment, I’m using the floral one for blogging stuff. I just had to get the ‘Girls Rule’ one too.
Bath time stuff from Meraki
When I was first in contact with Rooi, I asked if there were any cruelty-free and vegan brands I could feature. If I obtain or buy any new products, I want them to come from brands I trust. Four brands were suggested but I could only find information on one of them. I also tried emailing with a few and got some very short replies. So, I decided to avoid. However, Meraki seem to be cruelty-free and vegan (see here.)
I looked at my current collection to see what I was low on and decided to try some new makeup wipes. Although I mostly take my makeup off with a cleanser, I do use wipes in my routine as well. I tend to go for ones that are formulated for sensitive skin or promise to be easier on your face. These make-up wipes are great; the aloe vera in them leave my skin feeling really clean and soft. No redness too!
Since I decided to stop shopping at Lush, I’ve been on the look out for bath bomb alternatives. It turns out not all of Bomb Cosmetics’ are vegan-friendly, so I decided to try two from Meraki. I went for their Rose Shea butter bomb and their Lavender Shea too.
I’ve only used the rose one so far and they’re pretty nice. Iain said the bathroom smelt really good after I used it. They’re not as powerful as other bombs I’ve used; it doesn’t explode, it subtly fuses whilst you bathe. It’s really quite pleasant! I was surprised at how long it took considering it was so small. Another thing I really like about this bomb is how it leaves your skin feeling smooth.
Flamingo Tea Light Candles
In addition to some beauty bits and work stuff, I couldn’t resist a little novelty item too. Rooi also have an impressive candle selection, they’re so much choice! We use candles a lot in our home. Despite the fact I can’t smell them, there is something so relaxing about watching one burn. It may sound weird but I’m excited to see what these look like in use. I thought these flamingo candles would make great blog props, so I’ll definitely be saving a few too!
